The Template Editor
Now that we've configured the 3D Environment, we can begin
creating our book cover.
To avoid creating a cover from scratch, we will use a pre-designed template
and then customize it. To do this,
we will first access the Template Editor.
Watch the Video Pre-Designed Templates
Note: Please allow time for the videos to download
You can access the Template Editor 4 different ways.
1. Click on on the View menu -> Template Editor
2. Click on the Template Editor icon.

3. Click on the Template editor button on the right.
4. Press Ctrl-T on your keyboard.
Next, you will see the Template editor (see image below)

The Template Editor is where we will create, modify, load and
save our templates. A template is a set of covers that will be applied
in a desired 3D Model.
When creating a template, always make sure you've selected the proper
model. Templates are not fully
compatible between different models.
We will load a template from the Template Library. The Template
Library is a set of pre-designed templates that you can customize
to achieve a unique and personal style.
To access the Template Library click on the Template Library
button. To select a template, simply double click on it.
Note: If you cannot access the Template library you will need to set the path to TemplateLib C:\Program Files\eCover3D\TemplateLib
For a more detailed explanation on how see:
How to change the path to the templatelib
or
Watch the Video Template Library Path
Note: Please allow time for the videos to download
To follow this guided tour, we will select any Book
template.
If you followed this tour exactly, you will receive the confirmation message:
"Do you want to select the proper model?". This message appears
when you have selected a template for a model that is different than the actual
selected model.
Click Yes, and eCover 3D will automatically
select the proper model (Book).
Once you have done this, the selected template will appear in the template
editor. Each one of the template faces are located in the right viewport.
You can navigate through these faces by clicking and dragging the mouse in the right viewport.

We will then customize this template to achieve a personal cover. To do this,
right click on front face and click on Edit Face.
The Template Editor will immediatelly hide and you will see
a new image window in the 2D Environment with the face you selected.
At this time, you are able to modify this face using all the tools provided
by the 2D Environment. (see 2D Environment)
