If that’s the case you will need to change the path to access the free templates included with eCover 3D.
This is very easy to do and you only need to do this once.
Template library path: C:\Program Files\eCover3D\TemplateLib and click Ok
We also have a video showing you how to do this at the bottom of this page:
Why do I get the Error Message ‘Direct3d Device lost’?
1. You do not have Direct X Please see: System Requirements There is a link to download the latest version from Microsoft.
2. eCover 3D has very advanced features that require computers with modern video cards. The video cards must be compatible with Direct X, 32 MB video memory to ensure the best performance and results
Please note: While some video cards will work with new versions of Direct X it will not utilize newer features beyond Direct X6 because the video hardware will not support this. As a result, when eCover 3d tries to activate features that the video card does not support, then Direct X is down and you receive the error message ‘Direct3d Device lost’.
Your computer probably does not have the required dx8vb.dll file. (This is a Microsoft file. Please see dll file information below.)
1. You can download the file via this link: dx8vb.dll
2. Copy the file to the SYSTEM32 folder (or SYSTEM folder if you are using Windows 98).
3. Click on Start > Run and type: regsvr32 MSSTDFMT.DLL
4. Click OK. The text entered must be exact. It may be best to copy & paste help it into the run box. Windows will tell you it’s registered correctly
